Magnet, a Toronto Metropolitan University-based centre focused on workforce innovation, has appointed two new members to its advisory board as it prepares for its next strategic planning phase, according to the organization.
Jamie Savage, founder and CEO of The Leadership Agency, and Tiffany Callender, co-founder and CEO of the Federation of African Canadian Economics, will join the board as it concludes its first term and begins planning for future initiatives, the organization said Friday.
New phase of planning
The advisory board has helped shape Magnet’s work on workforce connections and economic inclusion across Canada since the organization’s launch, according to the announcement.
“We are grateful for the dedication and insights of our inaugural Advisory Board members, who have helped guide Magnet through its foundational years,” said Mark Patterson, executive director of Magnet. “As we look ahead, Jamie and Tiffany bring invaluable expertise and bold leadership that will help chart the course for Magnet’s next strategic plans.”
Expertise in talent and economic development
Savage works in talent acquisition and organizational leadership for high-growth companies, according to Magnet. Callender focuses on inclusive economic development and supports underrepresented communities and entrepreneurs, the organization said.
The two new members will join continuing board members to help guide Magnet’s programs, partnerships and initiatives as workforce needs change, according to the announcement.
