Makila AI, a Montreal-founded predictive analytics company, has acquired Bonanza, a Paris-based human resources marketing firm that operates in 12 countries across Europe and North America.

The deal, announced April 7, brings together Makila AI’s workforce planning and financial performance tools with Bonanza’s recruitment automation and employer branding software.

“Joining Makila AI is a natural evolution for Bonanza,” said Mathieu Marziou, co-founder of Bonanza. “We share the conviction that artificial intelligence is fundamentally transforming how organizations attract talent and structure their workforce strategies.”

Makila AI was founded in Montreal by Alain Latry and has operated in Paris since 2018. The company is backed by Crédit Mutuel Equity. Bonanza was founded in Paris in 2016 by Marziou and Franck Magnan.

Combined platform

The two companies say they are building a combined platform that connects HR marketing with organizational performance data. The goal is to help employers measure how talent attraction efforts affect financial and operational results.

“Integrating Bonanza allows us to connect HR marketing strategies with concrete operational and financial indicators, turning talent attractiveness into a measurable performance lever through Makila AI’s predictive analytics and simulation platform,” said Layla Nasr, chief executive officer of Makila AI.

The combined offering is built around three areas, according to the companies:

  • AI-augmented analytics: Predictive and simulation tools to support HR and financial decision-making
  • Data sovereignty: Compliance features designed for large enterprises and public sector organizations
  • Partner ecosystem: A network of software vendors, consulting firms, system integrators, and HR and finance specialists

Market context

Bonanza currently serves more than 80 customers, including large enterprises, mid-market companies, and public sector organizations. Its clients include Covéa Group, L’Oréal, RATP Group, Eiffage Group and Transgourmet.

“Combining Bonanza’s technology with Makila AI’s predictive analytics addresses a real market need: fundamentally transforming how organizations attract talent and structure their workforce strategies through AI,” said Franck Magnan, co-founder of Bonanza.

Latry said the acquisition reflects a shared direction between the company’s French and Canadian leadership teams and continues Makila AI’s push to grow its international presence.
