Seneca Polytechnic has been named one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2025, marking its 16th appearance on the list. The recognition, awarded by Mediacorp Canada Inc., evaluates workplace policies and practices across areas such as benefits, employee development, and community engagement.
“Seneca is dedicated to nurturing a supportive and dynamic workplace, where excellence is recognized and employees can thrive,” said Caroline Riley, vice-president of human resources. She called the milestone a testament to the institution’s workplace environment.
Seneca was highlighted for offering a 93% salary top-up for 52 weeks of parental leave, tuition reimbursement of up to $25,000, and up to one year of professional development leave. The institution also supports lifelong learning by providing employees with access to industry thought leaders and peer collaboration opportunities.
Flexible work policies also contributed to the ranking. Seneca encourages hybrid work arrangements supported by advanced technology and on-campus shared spaces designed to foster collaboration and innovation.
Two employees shared their experiences in an article published by The Globe and Mail. Natasha Binns, director of events and special projects, praised Seneca’s leadership for fostering trust and respect. Michael Rotondo, co-chair of the School of Aviation and a Seneca graduate, described the institution’s culture as one that encourages innovation and collaboration.
The Greater Toronto’s Top Employers list evaluates organizations on criteria including workplace atmosphere, health benefits, employee communications, skills development, and community involvement. Mediacorp conducts the competition annually to recognize leading workplaces in the region.
Seneca Polytechnic serves as a post-secondary institution combining academic rigour with practical, career-focused education, helping students transition from education to employment.
