Red Dot Corporation has appointed Doug Bobay as vice-president of global human resources, bringing more than 20 years of HR leadership experience to the Puyallup, Wash.-based manufacturer of mobile heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for heavy-duty and powersports vehicles.

“I’m excited to join Red Dot at such an important time in the company’s evolution,” Bobay said. “The REDy For Anything mindset reflects a strong commitment not only to distributors and partners, but also to employees. It’s been a real joy getting to know this team, and I look forward to helping build a culture where people feel valued, supported and empowered to grow.”

Bobay joined the company in February. Since then, he has worked on initiatives to modernize compensation structures and create incentives for attendance and employee development.

Background and experience

Bobay’s career spans HR leadership roles across multiple industries, including automotive aftermarket products, fuel cell energy, paper and packaging, specialty chemical formulation, and technology startups. He has primarily supported small- to mid-sized manufacturing organizations and has held previous leadership roles in safety, quality, production supervision, and industrial engineering.

His areas of expertise include compensation strategy, leadership development, staffing, and employee retention.

“Doug brings an exceptional combination of people leadership, operational insight and manufacturing expertise to Red Dot,” said John Beering, chief executive officer of Red Dot. “As we continue building a culture that empowers our employee-owners and supports expansion and innovation, Doug’s experience and guidance will play a pivotal role in ushering Red Dot into this next chapter.”

Role and focus

In his new role, Bobay will work to strengthen engagement across Red Dot’s 400 employees worldwide. His focus will be reinforcing the company’s RISE values — respect, integrity, service, and excellence — as part of its broader REDy For Anything cultural initiative.

Red Dot, which is 100 per cent employee-owned, is expanding into new areas including climate systems for recreational vehicles, data centre infrastructure, and electric vehicles.
