Statkraft has appointed Tone Skuterud as Executive Vice President (EVP) for the newly created People, Organisation, and Sustainability division, effective no later than April 1, 2025.
Skuterud, currently Chief Transformation Officer at Telenor Norway, returns to Statkraft after previously spending 12 years with the company in leadership roles, including Senior Vice President (SVP) Financial Reporting, Accounting, and Strategic Finance, and Senior Advisor Corporate Strategy.
Birgitte Ringstad Vartdal, President and CEO of Statkraft, said Skuterud’s appointment strengthens the company’s focus on sustainability and leadership development. “I am delighted that Tone Skuterud has accepted this critical role. These areas are essential to Statkraft’s ability to deliver on our strategic priorities, including a sustainability strategy that differentiates Statkraft in the green transition,” said Vartdal.
Skuterud brings leadership experience from both the energy and telecommunications sectors. She has held several senior roles at Telenor since 2017, including SVP Leadership and Culture and SVP Governance and Sustainability, with responsibilities extending across Telenor’s Asian operations while based in Singapore. Her background also includes positions at Ernst & Young and Microsoft.
On her appointment, Skuterud said she was honoured to return to Statkraft. “It feels like coming home. The integration of people, organisation, and sustainability is vital for driving organisational success and ensuring long-term value creation,” she said.
The appointment finalizes Statkraft’s new group management structure, which was announced in October by Vartdal. As of January 1, 2025, the group management team includes:

Until Eitrheim and Skuterud officially assume their roles, Dag Smedbold will act as EVP Nordics and Sætness will act as EVP People, Organisation, and Sustainability.
