Employers that use Ellipse Assurances, BCH or Orchestro for group benefits will now deal with a single new subsidiary, Ellipse Collective, which combines the three firms’ employee benefits teams under one roof.

The Quebec City-based insurance group named the new entity on Oct. 19. The merger of the three teams was first announced in September.

“This merger not only allows us to create new synergies between our areas of expertise, but also to offer an even stronger 360-degree service offering through close collaboration among all our teams,” said Jean-Simon St-Laurent, vice-president of the new subsidiary.

Ellipse Collective will focus on group insurance and group retirement solutions. It helps organizations set up and adjust employee benefits plans for their workers and their families, according to the company.

A one-stop shop for benefits

Before choosing a name, the leadership team went through a planning process to define the subsidiary’s vision, positioning and personality, the company said. That process produced a goal of serving as a one-stop shop for employee benefits and group retirement, built around the needs of clients, their employees and their families.

Collaboration is also a core value for the new subsidiary, with the skills of every team member brought into each client mandate, according to the company.

“The name reflects a way of working based on cooperation, knowledge sharing, and the pursuit of solutions adapted to each client’s reality. It is a way of working that is unique to Ellipse Collective,” said Patrice Jean, president of Ellipse Assurances.

Rollout over coming weeks

Clients were set to receive an official notice of the change on Oct. 19. The shift to a new visual identity and work tools will happen gradually over the coming weeks, and a new website is scheduled to launch in December.
