WorkSafeNB has been named one of Atlantic Canada’s Top Employers for the second consecutive year, the organization announced March 24.
The designation recognizes employers across the region that demonstrate strong workplace culture, employee wellbeing, and people-focused practices.
“Every day I see the care, professionalism, and heart our employees bring to their work and to one another,” said Tim Petersen, president and chief executive officer of WorkSafeNB.
“This recognition belongs to them, and I am incredibly grateful for everything they do to support each other while delivering on our vision of Making New Brunswick the Safest Place to Work.”
WorkSafeNB employees across the province support injured workers and their families through recovery. They also work with employers and workers to strengthen prevention efforts and promote safer workplaces.
Culture and employee support
Laragh Dooley, vice-president of people and culture at WorkSafeNB, said the organization’s workplace culture is built on accountability, collaboration, and trust.
“We are focused on creating the conditions for people to do their best work through meaningful development, strong support, flexible work options, and a total rewards approach that reflects the value they bring.”
WorkSafeNB also offers employees a dedicated volunteer day to support community involvement outside of work. Dooley noted that employees contribute to the communities they serve through volunteerism supported by that program.
Sustaining the recognition
Receiving the designation two years in a row signals that WorkSafeNB is maintaining its workplace standards, not just achieving them once.
Petersen said the organization intends to keep that standard high.
“We will continue to build on this momentum by listening, learning, and holding ourselves to a high standard in how we support our people because being a top employer is something you prove every day.”
