Denny’s Inc. has announced the return of Christopher Bode as president and chief operating officer, effective Sept. 30. Bode will oversee operations, marketing, finance, and human resources for both corporate and franchise restaurants. His return comes after previously serving as Denny’s COO from 2014 to 2022.

In his new role, Bode will report directly to Kelli Valade, CEO of Denny’s Inc. He brings a wealth of operational expertise, having most recently led Hardee’s USA as president, where he was responsible for driving growth and operational improvements.

“Denny’s is a beloved brand known for its value and warm hospitality,” said Bode in a statement. “I’m excited to return as president and work closely with our franchisees and teams to deliver great guest experiences while driving profitable growth.”

Valade welcomed Bode’s return, highlighting his deep understanding of the Denny’s brand and franchise community. “Chris’s deep operational expertise and intimate understanding of our franchise community will empower us to not only remain competitive but to lead the industry with innovation and excellence,” she said.

In a concurrent appointment, Minh Le has been named senior vice president and chief technology officer, effective Sept. 23. Le will oversee technology operations for Denny’s and Keke’s Breakfast Café, with a focus on modernizing systems and enhancing guest experiences. Le, who has more than 25 years of experience in restaurant technology, will report to Robert Verostek, Denny’s chief financial officer.

“I’m excited to join this forward-thinking company and drive the technological innovations that will support Denny’s and Keke’s in a rapidly evolving industry,” said Le.

Both appointments reflect Denny’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its leadership team as the company seeks to enhance operational efficiency and technological infrastructure.
