Premier Truck Rental (PTR) has promoted Dawn Black to chief human resources officer, recognizing her contributions to the company’s growth and employee culture. Black, who has over 25 years of human resources experience, joined PTR in 2018 and has played a key role in tripling its workforce, integrating a second facility, and fostering cohesion across multiple locations and remote teams.
Black’s career began at Weaver Popcorn, where she focused on talent management and employee relations. She later held senior HR roles at Guardian Automotive and Matilda Jane Clothing, gaining expertise in workforce development and organizational growth. Since joining PTR, Black has progressed from director of human resources to vice-president of HR, and now CHRO.
In a statement, Black said the promotion reflects PTR’s emphasis on supporting its workforce. “Being promoted to chief human resources officer at Premier Truck Rental is a tremendous honour. I’m excited to continue fostering an environment where our people can succeed, grow, and feel empowered daily,” she said.
PTR, a family-owned fleet rental company with locations in Indiana and Texas, has been named among NAFA’s Top 100 Commercial Fleets of America for two consecutive years. The company’s focus on precision and reliability has made it a key partner for construction and utility contractors across the United States.
Black holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credentials.
Premier Truck Rental’s leadership said the promotion highlights the company’s commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace.
