Constant Contact has earned Great Place To Work Certification for the first time, the marketing technology company announced May 28.
The certification is based on a survey of current employees about their workplace experience. The company said 80 per cent of employees described it as a great place to work, which it noted is 23 points higher than the average U.S. company.
“We are thrilled to become Great Place To Work-Certified as we consider employee experience a top priority every day,” said Chief People Officer Mary Rusterholz. She added that the company places flexibility and trust in its employees.
Rusterholz said earning the recognition in the company’s first year of consideration reflects how staff feel about working there.
What the certification measures
Great Place To Work describes itself as an authority on workplace culture and employee experience. The organization said its certification is based entirely on employee feedback about company culture.
“Great Place To Work Certification is a highly coveted achievement that requires consistent and intentional dedication to the overall employee experience,” said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, vice-president of global recognition at Great Place To Work. She said the recognition shows Constant Contact provides a strong workplace environment for its employees.
The company said it supports staff through leadership development, comprehensive benefits and a flexible working model.
Research on certified workplaces
Great Place To Work cited several findings from its own research about certified companies:
- Finding a good boss: Job seekers are 4.5 times more likely to find a great boss at a certified workplace.
- Looking forward to work: Employees at certified workplaces are 93 per cent more likely to look forward to coming to work.
- Fair treatment: Workers are twice as likely to feel they are paid fairly, earn a fair share of profits and have a fair chance at promotion.
Constant Contact, based in Waltham, Mass., is a marketing company that serves small businesses and nonprofits. The company said it has operated for more than 30 years.
Great Place To Work said more than 10,000 companies across 60 countries apply for certification each year.
