Women of Influence+ (WOI+), a pivotal player in women’s empowerment in Canada, has announced a strategic alliance with Room Women’s Network, a global organization dedicated to the advancement of senior executive and high-potential women. This partnership emerges following the acquisition of WOI+ by More Room for Women, the parent company of Room, aiming to catalyze a global movement for fostering female leadership.

The collaboration was unveiled by the co-founders of Room, Alexandra Blum, Sarah McMillan, and Leigh Zych, who initiated Room in 2023 as a private network tailored for women at the executive level and those poised for leadership roles. The union with WOI+, known for its influential role in empowering women, is designed to amplify the impact of both organizations and accelerate their global outreach.

Dr. Rumeet Billan, CEO of WOI+, emphasized the synergy between the two organizations, stating, “With a deep understanding of the complex issues that impact professional growth, well-being, and career advancement, WOI+ will leverage Room’s ability to create intimate, highly curated personal and professional development opportunities to address these issues. We are so much stronger together, and this partnership will amplify our impact and accelerate our global growth.”

WOI+ has been a cornerstone in advancing gender equity in the workplace for over 30 years, renowned for its high-profile events, awards programs, and a robust global community. By joining forces with Room, WOI+ plans to enhance its programming and extend its reach further into the global arena.

Alexandra Blum, Co-Founder of Room, shared her vision for the partnership, “We believe in the power and potential of women. We are realizing the greater opportunity that exists to help women in the leadership pipeline while ensuring executive women succeed in their positions. Both Room and WOI+ will harness their combined resources to strengthen and accelerate their impact, uplifting women everywhere.”

This strategic partnership is poised to provide innovative platforms for Canadian employers to support their top female talent in achieving greater success both professionally and personally.

Pamela Jeffrey, Founder of The Prosperity Project, highlighted the urgency of supporting women in leadership roles in her commentary in The Globe & Mail, “Corporate leadership across Canada needs to move quickly, aggressively, and transparently to get more women back on track to leadership roles. Our country’s economic future depends on it. When women succeed, we all prosper.”

WOI+ continues to be a leader in redefining what it means to be influential, offering women the tools, connections, and support needed to navigate and excel in their careers. This partnership marks a significant step towards reshaping the landscape of women’s leadership globally.
