Lactalis Canada has been named one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2025, an annual designation recognizing organizations for exceptional workplace practices, according to Mediacorp Canada Inc., which publishes the list.

The company, a subsidiary of France-based Lactalis Group, is behind well-known brands such as Cracker Barrel, Black Diamond, Balderson, Astro, and Lactantia. Mediacorp evaluates employers on criteria including workplace environment, benefits, vacation policies, employee communication, training and development opportunities, and community involvement.

Mark Taylor, president and CEO of Lactalis Canada, said the recognition reflects the company’s efforts to prioritize its workforce.

“At Lactalis Canada, our purpose is to enrich and nurture the lives of Canadians, and that begins with our people and our ambition to be an employer of choice,” he said. Taylor added that the company focuses on employee well-being, professional development, and competitive compensation.

Lactalis Canada employs more than 4,000 people across the country and operates 30 sites, including 20 manufacturing facilities. The company highlighted its commitment to workplace culture as part of its broader strategy to strengthen its position as one of Canada’s largest consumer packaged goods firms.

The full list of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2025 was published by The Globe and Mail as part of Mediacorp’s annual editorial feature.
